niacinamide
Niacinamide: the active almost every skin tolerates

Sebum, pigmentation, redness, barrier: one ingredient touches four different problems. Why, and at what dose.
What it does
Niacinamide (vitamin B3) works on several fronts: it limits pigment transfer to the surface, supports ceramide production and calms inflammation.
That is why it appears both in an anti-dark-spot cream and in a soothing one — not marketing, but different mechanisms of the same ingredient.

The useful dose
Between 4 and 5%, effectiveness is established and tolerance excellent. Above 10% you gain little and clearly increase the risk of redness.
A high percentage printed large on a pack is therefore more a sales argument than a guarantee of results.
What to pair it with
It pairs well with hyaluronic acid and ceramides. For pigmentation, the decisive combination remains: niacinamide at night, sun protection in the morning.
Without the second, the first is working against pigment production that restarts every day.
