Organising your shelf by need, not by brand

Customers do not arrive with a brand name. Reorganising a shelf changes basket size without buying anything.
Group by problem
“Dark spots”, “dry skin”, “breakouts”, “damaged hair”: those are the words in the customer's head. Grouping by problem lets people find things without asking.
An immediate side effect: complementary products end up side by side, and baskets grow naturally.

Eye level is valuable
Products at eye level sell markedly more. Reserve that level for fast-moving references, not the most expensive ones.
Large formats go low: they are heavy, people seek them deliberately, and they free visible space for new arrivals.

The till, the last metre
Small formats, accessible prices, immediate benefit: this is where impulse buying happens. A hair perfume or a lip balm belongs here, not a high-priced serum.
Changing that zone once a month is enough to re-engage regular customers.
