Excessive sweating: how far an antiperspirant can help

There is a line between everyday inconvenience and a medical condition. Knowing it saves years of pointless trial.
What an antiperspirant does
It temporarily tightens the sweat ducts and reduces how much sweat is released. For normal to moderate perspiration, one evening application is plenty.
A deodorant only acts on odour: it will change nothing about damp clothing.

The signals that point to a doctor
Sweating that occurs at rest, at night, suddenly or asymmetrically, or that prevents everyday activities, goes beyond the cosmetic.
Effective medical treatments exist for hyperhidrosis. Spending years switching deodorants is the scenario to avoid.
Practical adjustments
Natural fabrics, less fitted clothing at the underarms, showering with a suitable gel: these genuinely reduce the perceived problem.
And the order stays the same: product in the evening on completely dry skin, never straight after shaving.
