produit multi-usage
One product for the whole family: good idea or not?

It depends on the category. Where it works very well, and where it should not be done.
Where it makes sense
Body cleansing and moisturising: a gentle soap-free base and a simple cream suit children through to adults. The large format then becomes the obvious economic choice.
It also simplifies the bathroom — and a product four people use runs out, so it gets repurchased.

Where you must separate
Targeted actives — acids, brightening creams, acne treatments — are individual. What suits adult skin can irritate a teenager's, and vice versa.
Deodorant and hair care follow the same logic: needs differ too much for one shared product.

The shop's calculation
A large family format has a lower unit margin but high rotation and predictable repurchase. It is a cash-flow product, not a window product.
Pairing it on the shelf with a more specialised individual treatment gives the best of both: volume on one side, margin on the other.
