Household products: the safety rules people neglect

Household accidents rarely come from the product itself, but from how it is stored or mixed.
Never mix
Bleach and acidic descaler release an irritant gas. So do bleach and ammonia. These reactions happen within seconds, often in a poorly ventilated space.
The simple rule: one product at a time, rinse between them, and never decant into another bottle.

Decanting, an underestimated danger
Product poured into a drinks bottle is the most frequent cause of accidental ingestion in children. The original label carries the hazard symbols and the emergency number.
Keeping a product in its own container is not paperwork: it is the safety measure itself.
Ventilate, always
A closed bathroom concentrates vapours. Opening a window during and after cleaning considerably reduces exposure, particularly for asthmatic people.
Formulas high in natural ingredients do not exempt you from this rule: natural does not mean harmless to breathe.
