Sensitive skin or damaged skin? They are not the same

One is a constitution, the other a temporary state. The distinction changes the whole routine.

The time test

Sensitive skin has always been so: it reacts to cold, wind and fragrance, and has for a long time. Damaged skin has become reactive recently, usually after a change of routine.

If the reactivity is new, there is a cause, and it is reversible in two to three weeks.

The calm-down protocol

Three products, no more: a soap-free cleanser, a repairing cream, sun protection. Set aside acids, vitamin C, retinoids and fragrance.

Then reintroduce one active at a time, waiting two weeks. It is slow, but it is the only way to learn what was causing the problem.

Living with genuinely sensitive skin

Short formulas, fragrance-free, tested under dermatological supervision. And one buying rule: patch test on a small area for three days before applying to the whole face.

This is not a limitation: it is what allows using actives consistently rather than in fits and starts.
