What to change in your routine when it gets cold

It is not the skin that changes, it is the environment. Three adjustments are enough.

Heating dries more than cold

Heated indoor air often drops below 30% humidity. Skin loses water by evaporation, even without going outside.

That is why tightness appears in winter in people who have no problem the rest of the year.

Change the texture, not the routine

No need to rethink everything: switch to a richer texture and keep the same actives. A balm at night, a lighter cream in the morning.

Cleansing should soften too: a relipidating cleansing oil advantageously replaces a gel in winter.

What does not change

Sun protection. UVA stays high all year and passes through cloud: reducing it in winter lets pigmentation advance for six months.

In the mountains and on snow, reflection increases exposure further — it is in fact one of the riskiest situations of the year.
